Open Studio Sessions

Our open studio sessions work on a drop-in basis and there is no need to book in advance. The Art Room gives a similar experience to going to college or an evening class without the commitment and homework. You get to make whatever you like  and can work at your own pace making it a more relaxed informal atmosphere. We are open to anyone regardless of age, ability or qualifications etc. You can pay £5/3hr session or pay a monthly membership of £25 which allows you to attend as many open studio sessions as you like. You can buy  a variety materials from our shop or bring along your own.

Creative Workshops

Our creative one day workshops are held every first Sunday of the month. They will be an enjoyable and affordable way to get a more in depth opportunity to explore the craft technique of your choice. Each workshop will be held by an experienced designer maker who will guide you step by step through an exciting project.

Private Party Hire

We can now host private craft parties, whether it s a jewellery making party for you and your friends, a kids paint-a-pot party or even a works team building event. It costs £50 for 2hr room hire and a supervisor, plus between £5-£15 per head for materials depending on the type of crafts you want to do. Contact us for more details.

Facilities

We have a large open studio, a dedicated textile room, a separate workshop for the messy projects as well as outdoor area for the warmer months. We also have a library, shop & gallery. In the future we hope to have individual studio spaces for members to work in.  

Equipment

Kilns, bench drill, scroll saw, vacuum former, enamelling kiln, printing press, weaving looms, spinning wheel, sewing machines, knitting machine, potters wheel,  letter press, wide variety of hand tools for all sorts of crafts. We also hope to install a dark room in the near future.

Shop & Gallery

Our shop stocks a variety of materials from watercolour paper for printmaking and painting to casting plaster for sculpture; wool tops for felting or spinning to clay & glazes for ceramics. We offer an ordering service too for materials not kept in stock. We also have a small gallery where you can purchase original pieces of art work, ceramics, jewellery etc ideal for gifts.
